Question Re Remote Controls

We are considering the purchase of a Monty with the 10th Anniversary Package and were wondering about the reliability of the remote controls. I presume there are manual controls that may be utilized, as per the landing gear on the regular units,if electrics fail. Your comments would be appreciated.

rvberr,

Everything has a manual control that is included on the remote. I have found the remote most useful when putting awing or slide out in close quarters. It is most useful for me when hooking up I can just get in the truck and adjust the height with the landing gear from inside the truck. Work great. I couple of things about it is a litte different though. It control the curb side scare light all the time. If turned on by the remote it must be turned off by the remote even thought there is a manual switch in the camper. Several people you may have noticed couldn't get their light off in any other way. Beside the light on the remote there are up and down buttons that control one other function at a time e.g. the landing gear, or awing, or rear jacks. The switch between those things you have to go to the control box near the front on street side. That box also has the controls to switch between the operation of the various slides.

It is a nice feature but not exactly what I expected when I ordered my Monty since it only has the three buttons

Ditto on convenience. I also like that I can watch each slide move. I regularly move the slides to keep everything free and clean and to dump water from the toppers.
