Mouse House
Our 02 Dodge is 14 months old but has only 8K miles. It is used only for towing the 3280 on our too infrequent trips and is stored in a covered shed with a with a tarp over it most of the time. Yesterday as I was doing a little routine maintenance (checking anti-freeze etc.) I decided to check the air filter. After removing the cover and filter, I discovered a field mouse had made his home in it. He had come in the air intake tube to the filter housing. I don't think he could have packed in any more insulation (dont't know where he imported that from) leaves, small sticks, paper and bits of plastic bags. Amazed that the Cummins would start and run with this air restriction and have no idea how long it's been in there. Regardless of how many miles you have on your air filter, a check may be in order - no telling what you may find.
