California wild fires

Does anyone know anything about the fire near Riverside? I heard 4 fire fighters lost their lives. I thought I heard later that 500 campers were stranded.....Maybe there will be more on this later.

mfoss, I heard on the news earlier today about 3 firefighters losing their lives, nothing about a fourth yet, or the campers. It's a very bad fire, and a terrible tradgedy. Maybe they will get it under control before more lives are lost

Yes! it was a set fire, and 4 fire fighters died, and the fifth one is duking it out in Arrowhead hospital. My sister was in the Silent Valley RV Park and saw the smoke this morning, and the threw all the stuff in the trailer locked it up and left it there. by the time they got to the top of Popet Flats Road and 243 they could hardly see from the smoke they then went up and over to Hemet and did a big circle to 79 then to the 10 and are now staying at the Indian casino The whole mountain is on fire. Everybody is OK at the campground the place was full for the Hollowene party this Saturday, whet a mess.

Here is a picture of the fire off the 243 hwy.

I just heard the same thing, and 400 people in an RV park stranded. I hope they catch the responsible party.

My residency is at Arrowhead. I can tell you the fifth firefighter is in critical condition. We are a level 2 trauma hospital with the areas only burn unit. Pray, everyone. The lone survivor and all those families need it now...

What a mess!
I just read today that if they catch the perpetrator, he/she can be charged with murder. OK by me, for sure.
Also, the 400 campers got out OK.

Glad to hear they ( the campers ) got out OK. Also OK by me to charge the perpetrator with murder.

This afternoon it looked like Hemet was not too far from the blaze. That's where Parrothead (Sue) lives. Has anyone heard from her?

No, it hasn't got that far down the hill, does Sue live near the Romona Expressway and Hwy 79? it has to go through the indian reservation first to get into Hemet I believe.

We are okay. I have a post in another section. We do live near the Ramona Expressway (2 blocks) and 79 (about 1 mile). It would have had to destroy the Indian Reservation and the river bed before it got to us but it was still very scary. Thank you for your concern. Monty is a mess from all of the ash that has fallen.
Happy trails......................
