Looks like we dodged the bullet..

Looks like [s]Tropical Depression[/s] [s]Tropical Storm[/s] [s]Hurricane[/s] [s]Tropical Storm[/s] [s]Tropical Depression[/s] Oh Heck I'm not sure what they're calling Ernie today. Anyway, Ernesto has finally faded into nothing more than a big blow with some rain. Even NASA has moved the space shuttle back out onto the launch pad.

But "if" and when Ole Ernie gets back out over the Atlantic around Daytona he could regain his strength and than threaten the Carolina's. At least that's what the meteorologists are saying but than again those same meteoroligists at one point had Ole Ernie going to the Yucatan, than Texas and than Louisiana before telling us it was coming up the Florida Gulf coast.

A number of locals told me "You can put about as much faith into what a meteorologist tells ya as you can put into most election promises."

Glad it didn't disturb you much, Glenn and Lorraine. I was surprised to see that you were in Florida in the heat.

Carol I luv your new photo. Did you do it or was it professionally done? Beautiful work.
AND Ole Ernie pretty much died a slow death. We had more rain and wind last week than Ernie stirred up today and they don't expect anything else to develop out of him.
Even the out of state tree and lineman trucks were headed back to Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina and Kentucky.

Judy, It's a l o n g story as to why I am here during the 3 H,'s, Heat, Humidity and Hurricanes and I promise I will never do it again. I'll explain it at the Rally.

Glenn,

Yes, ER-MESTO made for a wacky weather week. The coverage was terrible and Dr. Lyons was very scarce. This is one of the times where they were very invested in keeping us watching and causing a lot of uneccessary anxiousness. They would not talk about water temps, wind shears, high pressure, cold fronts. Nothing to help us make up our own minds.

When I got up Tues morning and they had this straight line going up I-95, I thought, No, I don't want to do this. But I did. I got Miss Monatana ready, knowing it was "probably" for nothing, but after2004 I err on the side of caution this time of year.

NASA was all over the place. Monday night they were leaving the Shuttle on the launch, Tues morning they were bringing it, Tues afternoon after half way in, they moved it back out. That costs them a cool millon.

After the 2004 storms, my father is a nervous nelly and it's easier just to take him somewhere than deal with his angst. So I did what any good daughter should do and plopped us down in Disney for two days. It was a very nice way to pass the time. I mean a daughter has to do what a daughter has to do.

I see there is another storm brewing out there in the Atlantic. Looks like they are expecting it to stay out at sea though. Only 2 months of hurricane season left and so far we have been very lucky. Thank God

Glenn. Ernesto did some damage up here in Virginia. A lot of trees were up rooted and there was some water surge in the Potomac River. Docks were destroyed and some beach erosion. We had two feet of water over our dock (60 miles south of DC) but nothing got into the electircal wires. Our boat was up onthe lift as high as it would go and tied down to the pylons if it came loose. Good ole weather forcasters forgot to tell us about the water surge we could expect. Most of us know of the 6-10 inches of rain, but nothing about the surge till it was too late. A lot of us didn't get much sleep that nite watching the boat ropes here and the nearby Navy yacht club dock.

Right and they predicted this year to be worse than all previous years. Now they have revised that prediction due to the forming of another El Nino. Like they didn't know last year that this year would produce another El Nino. These meteorologists are about as trust worthy as a politicians election promises.
