The one at CW is fine. Montanas have a lot less pin weight than many 5ers. But remember the weight is really not on the stabilizer. It just helps to keep the unit from rocking. There is not a lot of difference between the several I have checked out.
Happy trails...............

Rich, what's the difference between a king pin stabilizer and a Mor/Ryde pin box? Do you need both? Or do they do the same job?

I don't know about pin box but the kingpin stabilizer it sure helps. We bought the one from CW in Feb. 05.. I was amased at how much more stable our 3280rl became. I've seen the others but I still think the tripod version should be more stable since it is suported by 3 legs instead of 2. Don't know why I waited 4 yrs to get it.
Love it !!!

Have to say we like ours. Course we only have a 2950RK, but like Parrothead said, the pin weight on the Montana is less than other models. We were skeptical at first, but after buying it; like owenwetzel said, "Don't know why I waited 4 years to get it."

You can't use a king pin stabilizer with a Mor/Ryde pin box. I suppose you could use it but it will do little or nothing. The stabilizer stops back a forth rocking but the Mor/Ryde is made to allow some back and forth movement. Therefore one cancels out the other to a point.

The CW tripod king pin stabilizer is the one I use and it does a good job.

I love my tri-pod and would recommend one. Mine is the BAL brand and was included in my deal at time of purchase.

I have the tri-pod from CW and the Mor/Ryde pin box and its works as well with the Mor/Ryde as the original pin box. It takes several thousand lbs to cause any movement in the Mor/Ryde. By the way the Mor/Ryde is great, I couldnt believe the difference it made especially on concrete roads.

Thanks, William. So I shouldn't worry about the Mor/Ryde moving on a stabilizer. There's no effect at all?

*On Edit ~ Sorry Rich. I was thinking of something else on my original post besides the tripod or dual stabilizer.

Best money I ever spent. I got a tri pod stabilizer within 3 months of buying my first 5th wheel after being in a friends 5th wheel and noticing how much less it moved around. That stopped at least 50% of the movement in the trailer and now I have wheel chocks, and extra scissors jacks to try and gain the other 50%.

Ok everyone..thanks..my local CW has the tripod on sale for 99.00 so I will run out a buy it.We will have the Mor-ryde installed on the 3670 and thanks William for the info on the mor-ryde, had not thought of that but it makes perfect sense.Think we now have everything we need to make the transition from the TT to a fifth wheel.Did want to get the back-up cam to use as a rear view mirror as a couple of posters were and although RV cams gave me a good discount it is still to pricey for now...maybe later...

Ron, what do you mean by extra landing gear? Are you talking about extra scissor jacks?

YES, Sorry my fingers didn't type what the brain was thinking. I have an extra set of scissors jacks behind the wheels. Then the standard crank down ones on the back of the trailer. We still get a little wiggle but it's getting better with each add on.

We also use a kingpin stabilizer and any of them I've seen will be fine. Our Montana has a lot of pinweight, 3300 lbs, but, as Sue said, the stabilizer is not supporting the kingpin. It just pushes up against it to remove some of the movement.

I've tried both the two-legged and three-legged variety and find them equally effective. One thing to look at is the range of adjustment. On some sites the pin will be closer or farther from the ground than in other sites. Sometimes I cannot use the stabilizer. Also, look at how difficult it is to set up.

Steve is correct (again). I have the three leg stabilizer and have been in places that require changing the height of the king pin cup by moving the three bolts in the leg braces. After fighting the bolts one time I replaced them with clevis pins and hair-clips. Now it is a snap to adjust the legs by removing the hair-clips, move the pins and replace the hair-clips.

The 2 leg version appears to accomplish the same results as the 3 leg version and weighs less. Takes up less storage space. My 3 leg one came with my trailer or I would have considered the 2 leg.

Don, this is one of those "why didn't I think of that?" solutions! I just put clevis pins on my list for next time I'm out and around. Thanks for the idea!
