Gooseneck Hitch and oscillations

A friend recently had a gooseneck hitch installed on his Monty and truck. Drives a Ford 3/4 ton. He also has air bags installed. He says that the truck has a slight fore and aft oscillation most of the time while on the highway. I'v never towed with a gooseneck. Is this normal? Anything he can do to fix it, other than getting a "standard" 5er hitch installation?
