Montey Turns One Year Tomorrow
Our 2010 3665RE turns one year tomorrow. I think we put around 7,000 miles on, and we decide to get the 7 year Extended Warranty and replace the China bomb tires. I have five BF Goodrich Commercial T/A (LT235/85R16E1 120R B) tires ordered should be here in a day or two.
We haven't had any problems with the tires, but I here to many war stories. On our last trip out Lab Day, we were headed North on I77, and saw a 2010 Montana going South (between Statesville and Charlotte, NC) on the side of the road with driver side front tire in sheds.
For those with the 3665RE, I would be interested if you have had your rigs weighted. How much on tires and hitch.
Also have any of you used Truck Wash, to clean your Monty? I here they charge by the foot, but haven't ever seen one.

What company did you go with for the extended warranty?
As for the truck wash, I have heard the harsh acid wash is detrimental to the decals and possibly the rubber roof.

Have 2010 3665RE and love it, lived in it for 3 months in AZ returned home and the first thing was to get it weighted while fully equiped, have 2008 Dodge 3500 short bed SRW GVW 10100.The Pilot station has certified Cat scales weight as follows; all 5er tanks empty, full diesel, Steer axle 4360lbs, Drive axle 5480lbs, Trailer axle 10860,total 20700, as I figure the hitch wt 2400lbs, trailer 13240 lbs. Truck no 5er, Steer axle 4380, Drive axle 3080,
We have a Truck and RV wash here (Medford OR) they charge $1 per ft. have checked it out, but have not used, they use high pressure for cleaning, they say will not hurt the decals, but I am chicken, still wash by hand. Have a great trip JD

I used a "do it yourself" truck wash with a brush and sprayer. raised platforms on the side also. I think it cost me $40.00. Well worth it to use their equipment. Would not trust anyone with high pressure sprayer. I just had it done here in the park and they had a low pressure sprayer to rinse only, otherwise hand and brush wash.

Story first. I should have known better than to take DW "just looking" at new 5th wheels, SOB's and Montana's.
She fell in love with the 3665RE.
Especially the bathroom separated from the bedroom (she never liked the bathroom/stool room) of the 3400, the 4 door fridge, and the microwave much lower (she's vertically challenged) and I preferred the living room over our 3400RL, with the entertainment center in the back, cool how the TV raises and lowers, and the large windows on the chair slide, making it much brighter inside, and not having to move the recliners every time we moved, the new storage compartment doors with keys that wont open 75%+ other doors, and are slam shut on hydraulic lifts, and we both liked the hickory woodwork.
Knowing I had to keep DW happy, we traded our 3400 for the new 3665RE!
Weights, loaded and ready for a 4-5 month trip, 1/4 tank fresh water.
Pin weight 2800
Axle weight 11700
Total 14500
This figure includes 4 6 volt Trojan batteries and 150 watt solar, dual pane windows, 4 door fridge, and a combo washer/dryer
Truck front axle 4700
Rear axle 6500
Total 11200
GCVW is total truck weight incl pin, and 5th wheel axle weight
11700
11200
Total 22900lbs, all figures calculated to the nearest 50lbs.
This is pushing the factory limits of a pre 2011 option loaded GMC crew cab dually, D/A 4X4, except the rear axle, but very close to the 11400lb GVWR.

I got if from Wholesale Warranties http://wholesalewarranties.net/ Starts at time of purchase not when you buy your Monty. With $50.00 deductable price was as follows:
Quote -
5 years = $300 down plus 12 monthly payments of $74.75 = $1,197
6 years = $325 down plus 12 monthly payments of $81.00 = $1,297
7 years = $350 down plus 12 monthly payments of $87.25 = $1,397
Enjoy a $100 discount if paying in full =
5 years = $1,097
6 years = $1,197
7 years = $1,297

Ya I think I am chicken too. My wife's cousins has a motor home and they use the truck washes all the time, and haven't had any problems.

Congrats on your first year. Good luck with the new tires. Still hand wash mine. Car too. Never have found one of those automatic washing machines that does a complete job. Guess I am too picky. When I travel, at the end of the day, if there are a significant number of bugs on the nose, I get out the ladder and the bucket and just clean the nose.
