Welcome to the forums! And hope you have good experiences going forward with your camper.
We did not let Covid stop us. In 2020, there was a space of about 2 months where we had campgrounds and state parks cancel our reservations because they shut down. But it was only about 2 months (March-April), when things started opening back up again.
Then later in the year, the rioting that occurred across the country brought us more concern than the Covid "thing" going on. We debated long and hard how we would handle all the weird things going on, and decided we would not let "fear" dictate our lives. But we also were careful and planned wisely where and how to travel, even which roads we traveled on, and always kept our hand on the pulse of the "weirdness" going on.
We ended up camping the rest of the year, even had opportunity to work from our camper a few times when the companies my wife and I work at closed their doors and everyone started working from home. We took it on the road and took advantage of the mandate Work From Home from our companies. They didn't care where we worked from, as long as it was not in their buildings. So, we hit the road.
Actually, the last 6 months of 2020 was a fantastic camping season for us. We did more "camping" during that time, away from home, than ever, (I think).
When January 1, 2021 rolled around, we ended up spending 5 weeks in a campground in Alabama, working form the camper and never missed a beat.
My wife had surgery the second week in February and we had to come back home for that. She's still recovering, but we are planning on hitting the road again as soon as her doctor releases her completely.
During this "down" time, we are sleeping in the camper every night (in the driveway), and are currently in the process of having a washing machine and dryer installed in the camper. So, I'm doing some rebuilding currently in the camper, making that compartment stronger, so the shoddy construction won't collapse when bouncing down the road.
We are looking at hitting the road again, probably, the 4 week in March.
The thing is.... don't let "fear" drive you and make decisions for you. Absolutely, DO use your head, plan things carefully, choose your camping locations carefully, avoid contact with people, wear that mask, even in areas where they have laxed up, and go enjoy life! Enjoy that camper! Enjoy your family!
