Switchover lever

so is it the lever end to the right that points to the in use tank? The instructions say that there is a service arrow on the lever that points to it but I do not see or feel an arrow. This is on the Fairview gr9984 propane regulator.

Thanks

I think if the lever points forward it’s set for the other side tank.

Understand that the lever on the change over valve does nothing but tell you which tank is in use. It doesn’t actually switch tanks. The shorter side of the lever is usually the pointer end but you can use it however you can remember.

The lever tells you which tank you’ve selected and the color indicator tells you if that tank has propane in it. For example if your lever is pointed to the driver’s side tank and the indicator is green, then all is good. However if it is red, then the switch has automatically switched to the curb side. Turn your lever to that tank and the color will go green. So now you know you have one empty tank to get filled before the other tank runs out. This is assuming all valves are open on the tanks. I always switch the lever to the tank in use at the time. When I fill my empty tank, I still leave on the tank currently in use. That way I know I have a full tank in reserve. Hope that helps understand the relationship between the lever and the switch.

One thing I forgot. The easiest way to figure out which way the lever works is to open drivers side tank leaving curb side closed. If the color is green, it’s pointing to the driver’s tank. If it’s red, it’s pointed to the curb side tank. Sorry I forgot that in the previous post.
