Clogged shower
I have a 2019 3930 fb. My shower is almost completely plugged. I took off the grate and saw a rubber o ring or seal of some type. I tried a plastic hair remover stick and nothing came out. Please give me some things to try. Thanks

If it is a HEPVO water trap versus a regular U trap..
Remove it, clean it and put it back in. Check for leaks.

Running anything thru the hepvo valve usually tears the membrane and you have to replace it. It's usually accessable from the basement and easy to replace. Replacements are available from trailer supply stores and Amazon. If the membrane is still intact use a soft brush to clean and be careful. After that take the plate with the holes out of the shower drain and replace it with a removable screen, also available at most trailer stores and Amazon. You'll be surprised how often you need to clean the screen. For us it's every other day.

As mentioned, probably that valve. I get away with cupping my hand and smacking down on the drain cover. It acts like a plunger forcing water through the clog. It happens about once a year.

After you correct the problem be sure to throw the "plastic hair remover stick" in the trash!

I carefully use about a 1" bottle brush that will go through the drain, and the brush removes built up crud and restores the function of the Hepvo valve.

HepvO is resistant to standard caustic-based drain cleaners. It is also resistant to acid-based cleaners with concentrations up to 10%. When flushing with higher concentrations of acid based cleaner, the valve must be removed before the operation.

If you have ever used a plunger on the shower drain, the HepvO is most likely inside out, keeping the shower from draining. My HepvO is readily accessible in the pass through storage. Remove it, inspect for damage, if not damaged, straighten it out, clean it and put it back. A new HepvO is not expensive. Just put one in my rig.

I believe they are on every sink in the bathrooms and kitchen. I would guess traditional P-traps cost more and take longer to install, plus taking up more room. My unit has the front bathtub, and I have not looked to see if has p-trap or HepVo. If I am wrong someone will correct me.

In mine hepvos are where p traps are not. That would be the shower and washer drains.

I've seen diagrams of HepoV devices used in a multitude of places. I think they find their greatest use for shower drains because the pedestal height to allow for a normal P-trap would cut down on the shower headroom. There is room for P-traps in the bathroom and kitchen cabinets.

While there may be room seems very few RVs have a real "P" Trap any more they all use HepoV devices, at least in the three we've had in the last 10 years.

Interesting. My experience with US-made RVs is limited to my Monty and one SOB bumper pull.
