Frame flex
I just picked up my Montana from Affinity RV group for frame flex repair. They do great work and worth the 5 hour drive to get there. Also I want to thank Keystone for standing behind their products. Thank you Alicia.

This will give you a general idea of the repair to correct most frame flex issues that result in cracks at sidewall slide-out corners

Thanks Chuck. That is very similar to how it was explained to me what was going to happen. They are also going to work on the other side of the front since I have movement there as well.

That's how they fixed ours. I would also like to thank Keystone and Tacoma RV for stepping in and repairing it under warranty.

Do you have any photos of your flex issues? We have the same coach, just a 2018 1/2 model year. Thanks and have a great day !

Thanks Chuck for posting the TSB and Jeff and Monty for the explanation. After reading it and looking at the pictures posted, I think I have a problem.

When we were at the rally my neighbors had the same bulge in their wall next to the bedroom slide. They had a LCI tech come and check it out. They were told no problem. So I had LCI tech come and have a look at mine so it was documented. He also told me no problem. I have looked at other models and there is no bulge in the wall. I will be contacting Keystone and sending them pictures. I'll let you know how it goes.

Think you guys are finding the "tip of the iceberg" on these bowing wall issues. I would not believe them when they said no issue as that is probably the comment they were to give if asked. Document everything...pics, when discussed with who where, etc, etc. You just might need it to get the response and actions that you are entitled to on a defective product. Keep pushing and don't let it slide. Good luck to all.

Is there a list somewhere of known models that exhibit this issue?
Are some models more prone than others?
Is it more common on units with two front slides?
On FB, I've heard that people with 2020's are having the same issues, that's a little bit discouraging.

Basically every make and model fifth wheel for the last several decades has experienced issues with cracking sidewalls and usually around front slide out lower corners...
Many owners don’t have any issues and some unlucky folks are having issues..
Key contributors ... my opinion.. are
.. rough roads driven over
.. over loaded basement and storage areas forward of front axle
.. lousy welds on frame to wall brace structure
.. inadequate cross beam and gusset supports
YMMV

Thanks for the reply!
I guess that's one good thing about our 5er. We have most of our stuff stored behind the axle, because that's where our basement is.
However, we do have a fridge sitting over the kingpin. That's probably as concerning as anything...

In Our case
haven't done rough roads yet.
Bed and basement were not overloaded.
Gussets non-existent per TSB
weld that I have seen other have post would be a contributing factor
