"We Won't Be Fooled Again"

Yes lyrics from the Who, Im old.

Went to a RV show yesterday and saw a Montana we liked. Well they had that super fantastic "Show Price" that WOW's that new 1st time buyer into signing on the spot. Made a call to my local Montana dealer and guess what? Without even begging he offered me the same exact unit for $7400 less than that better get it now "Show Price".

Moral to this story, go to show to see many brands and models in one place. Do your home work BEFORE going and then shop around. Could be "Show Price" best deal, but do not assume anything.

Oh yea, buying local is your best option. You will avoid that after the sale service night mare.

"What do you mean because I did not purchase from you you will not service my RV?"

Sir

Amen on the research!!! I always play at least 3 dealers against each other to get the best price on anything major we purchase (campers, trucks, tractors etc...). Start with the "cash out the door". Get that to the bottom dollar (takes about 2 weeks of haggling) DO NOT MENTION A TRADE TILL AFTER YOU GET THE CASH PRICE!! Then introduce the trade and go thru the haggling with all 3+ vendors again. Once you get the best overall price with trade then once again play the vendors against each other over the financing and go outside of them to your own banks of choice to get the best percentage rate! You have to do all three in sequence in order to end up with the best overall price and best terms on the loan (which is often overlooked by many buyers looking at a shiny new camper). You have to be willing to get up and walk away from any of the dealers/salesmen/finance guys at any time they start to add on additional costs and such. Just walk out, its your money and until you sign the bottom line YOU have the power! Also don't let a $100 worth of lawn chairs cost you $1000 in finance charges! Its called 4 corners and the dealers can stick it too you at any step in the process......You gotta drive it down to a commodity bid process and that takes time and patience.

Checking everything you're offered or told is just common sense in the RV business.

We have said and posted that many times. If you have done your homework and are a good negotiator you can get the same or better price anywhere You can also get the price you want to pay at the RV show depending on your skills. The RV show is a great place to see and compare brands and pricing. Helen and I worked RV shows several times. We travel all over the country and have never had a issue with RV service or repair anywhere. We call Keystone customer service and have them make the arrangements.,

If I had to buy an RV from the local dealer ... I guess I'd plainly not have an RV. It's their price or the highway ... I've enjoyed the highway for 3 purchases.

Watch (Josh the rv nerd) on you tube about service after the sale. its a scare tactic. Authorized service centers can deny service, but they should not due to the fact they are an authorized service center. When you are traveling you are not always in the dealer area you bought it and most will help even if you ended up buying in another state. keystone wants to know there customers are taken care of anywhere. and it does reflect on the dealer ship by maintaining a great relationship with the manufacturer. About the show price. We are looking at an SOB and the salesman says that they have to spend lots of money to put on a show and that has to be recouped. and unfortunately its making that Montana 7000 dollars more.

So far I have not had an issue getting warranty service on my rig locally from a dealer I did not buy from. I got an appointment 4 days after walking in and had it back 48 hours later - they did not want it taking up space on their lot.

We just picked up a2019 used! People had it 6 moths and traded it in for a mh. They loaded it up too with a generator, washer/dryer and backup camera! I believe we got a great deal and the 1 st owner took the depreciation!

Told wifey I had to get chemicals and was going to CW while we were in FL, live in NC. She decided to come along so we left the dog in our 2017 370BR. When almost there she said "while we are here with time...". Well, they had a 3761FL SHE decided WE had to have. Listened to all and even got pricing out the door. Called my local CW in Myrtle Beach. Sean said they had one 2019 left and 9 of that model on order so they had even more incentive to get it off the lot. Yep, saved over $7,000 buying local and they tossed in a $500 CW gift card too. In 4 days we do a 4 day shakedown...…
