Ordered 08 Super Duty

This afternoon I ordered an 08 Ford 250 Super Duty 6.4 Lariat, super cab long box with everything but a moon roof. Dealer tells me approx. 6 weeks for delivery. The wife would not let me order black again, has to be white to match the new Big Sky.

Only difference between the men and the boys are the price of their toys! Enjoy your new one! Happy camping.

Congratulations Bill and Linda! They are good looking trucks! It does sort of seem like they skipped 2007...

I new it was close to New Years, but this is really pushing it. I demand that we have '07 anyway. How many of you are with me?

Keep us posted on what you think.

I agree Mike!

I bought mine in July and it should have been an 07. they call it an 06, but the door is stamped 05. I think they really only build trucks every three years. During the off years they build Navigators and Fiestas!

Congratulations you guys! Hey, look at it this way you won't have to work so hard keeping it shiny with it being white!
When are you ordering that new Big Sky?

Hey there was an '07 Ford Super Duty and I got one--ordered my '07 F350 in Sept and picked it up in November. Wasn't as adventuresome as Bill in taking on the new 6.4. I also look forward to hearing how it turns out.

Bill--are you going for the Big Sky? If so, which one are you picking?

I owned an 04 6.0 PSD and I was sure not adventuresome enough to try another 6.0
Waiting in the cold and dark for haul trucks to arrive is an adventure I don't want to repeat.

Ford has spent millions to get this new 6.4 right the first time. They need it to be a real success. They simply can not afford a repeat of the 6.0 fiasco.

Congratulations! Looking forward to hear some real-time evaluation of the new 6.4....the write up sounds awesome! I too went from black/silver to white/beige when I bought my 06. I still think the black is a great looking truck....but keeping it clean was a problem. White definitely shows less dirt. Good-Luck!

David, we love our 3400, so if we can get this done it will be the 340RLQ, the pics are beautiful. I called our salesman a couple of weeks ago who we bought our 3400 from to see if he had any info on the Big Sky, this dealer has not sold the Big Sky in the past, and he told me they have one coming in. He said that the owner was at the dealer show in Louisville and was so impressed with the Big Sky he ordered one. He said he would get back to me when he has more details.

Bill,
I posted earlier that I saw the '08 F450 w/6.4L. The diesel engine is incredibly quiet and the promo materials said they've tested the engine for 10M miles in all conditions?!!! BTW, I do not want to know the price tag!

We are looking forward to the reports on the 6.4 Diesel. W.T post is exactly why we have the 05 V-10. I don't think Ford will make the same blunder twice.

Bill C., I must be stupid or have been in a coma for the last year (2007), How were you able to order an '08 when the 07's have just come out? Am I that far behind the times?

Rich, you cannot get the same TV you have now, they have completely changed. Check out the new stuff, navagation system, sirius sat. radio, tail gate step, power mirrors, ect. MSRP will be over 50k.
Phil, this very short 07 year for the Super Duty was caused by many reasons, mostly had to do with gov. regulation requiring Ultra Low Sufur Diesel use, which required serious modifications to the diesel exhaust system of all diesels built after Jan 1 08. Ford had many exterior and interior changes scheduled for 07 but decided to wait until now and make them all at once, wallah the new 08 in Jan of 07.
