Ozz weighed the Anvil on a Cat scale....

OK, here the figures are, I may have to go back, (stop on the way back home) and drop the legs on the Monte, take the weight off the truck and get another set of figures.
My head was spinning like Linda Blairs' after trying to sort the weight issues.
Steer axle: 4660
Drive axle; 6280
Trailer axle's: 12020
Gross weight: 22960.

Ok guys and gals, how do I stack up??
I think I'm OK, but let me have it..
Ozz

DUH! Just saw the thread Steve started, Never mind............

Your truck's GVW is 10940 lb and your Gross Combined is 22960. I think you are looking good.

You are under your GCWR which is 23000 lb and you are under your truck's axle ratings. You might be a little over your GVWR but not by much.

The only thing that jumped out at me Ozz was the 20 lbs you are over on the coach axles. Not that 20 lbs is going to be a be fator in the overall picture. Everything else looked good to me.

Hi Ozz,
Weighted mine yesterday with the following results.
Front axle = 4629#
Rear Axle = 6608#
Trailor Axles = 10820#
Gross weight = 22048#
Pin weight figured out to be 2988#
As fa as I can tell Iam within the wight rating of both the F350 and the Monti. However I am concerned about the pin weight. I think I am ok because the GAWR of the rear axle is 9000#
We unloaded the Monti before puting it into storage for two months and can not beleive how much (****) junk I had packed away in the Monti.
Have a great day.
Dick

Thanks, guys.
Dick, it is amazing how much we carry. Many members have ways to sort out what they don't use. I will look into it after more travelling.
We have some pretty smart cookies here.

You'll need the weight of the truck with a full tank of fuel and everything else you plan on carrying in it, to finish your evaluation. Is the truck a 3/4 t or 1t SRW?

Mine is SRW 3/4 ton Offroad 4x4 with Firestone airbags.
I had full tank and all the 'stuff' I was on the road, around 2,000 miles into it.

I think your payload capacity must be around 2600 to 3000 lbs (mine is the 1-ton SRW F-350CC, and the placard says 3651 lbs max payload) . So if your pin weight is 2988 lbs, you are probably running 500 lbs to 800 lbs over this figure (pin wt, plus hitch wt, plus person(s) in the vehicle, plus any tools or misc stuff in the truck).

After looking at the previous posts, Ozz, I see that "rak's" fifth wheel has the 2988 lb pin weight. Sorry. What did your pin weight end up being calculated at?

The placard on my TV is as followes. Front GAWR is 4850#, Rear GAWR is 9000#, the CVWR is 13000#, and GCWR is 23000#. When I weighted I had myself, wife, two dogs, main tank full, aux. tank only had 20 gallons in it instead of 60 gallons, normal amount of tools that I carry.

Ozz; The loaded truck weight without the trailor. Manufactorers specs also, Payload capacity and Gross Combined Weight are the ones that count [the others will probably be ok if you are within these two].

I looked a 2006 F250 PSD CC 4 x 4 with 10000 GVWR. It's cargo capacity was 2507. I've posted this before, but here it is again. To find the true cargo capacity of YOUR truck, check the sticker on the left rear door or pillar of the drivers side of the truck. The sticker, entitled "Tire and Loading Information," will have a section that says, "The combined weight of cargo and occupants should never exceed ____ pounds." That is your cargo capacity.

I agree with Countryfolks. Go get your truck weighed with the same number of people full tank etc, and then all you have to do is deduct the new drive axle weight from the old (to get pin), and deduct the entire new total of the truck from the gross weight total of the old cat scale weight to find out how much you total trailer weight is. I did it a few months ago, and my trailer was over, but the truck gvwr and the combined weights were just fine for my truck. Allison

Ozz, I think if you deposit all those Las Vegas winnings in the bank you are going to be pretty close on your weights. I keep thinking I should probably get a 3500 dually to take care of the weight issue, but will have to wait until next spring. Good Luck Amigo....
