Short life on OEM battery.

My truck is only 28 months old and the battery went south. It won't take a charge and the red eye is showing in the window. This is all my own doing as right after I got the truck I put in a Vipor Security remote starter system and I like it very much but this system constantly transmits up to a mile away between the remote and the truck. Also, the flashing blue LED in my truck is so bright it lights up the cab at night. Every month I must change the triple A battery in the remote so a trickle drain is always happening to the truck's battery and because my truck is a V10 gasser, I only have one battery and Ford went pretty cheap here with only a 650 cold cranking amp battery. I bought a 900 cold cranking amp replacement and it spins and starts the engine better than the OEM ever did.

Now, the diesels all come with two batteries and might not be affected as much but still a heads up if you have one of these systems that they may shorten your battery life. I did not put a warranty claim in on the OEM battery because it wouldn't be fair and a 900 CCA battery with a 100 month warranty is only 71 bucks(CAD) probably only 58.00 US at Costco,
not even the price of a half tank of gas..............

Mine went south last week as well. Since I had truck problems HOPO went out I have had to charge may batteries three time. Finally took it to have them cheek, yeap both were bad, 1000 CCC 175.00 bucks later back on the road.
