Gray Valve Cable

We have a 2020 3761 and one of the gray valve handles is very hard to pull. Does anyone know what brand valves are installed in our Montana’s. Lots of options available from Amazon for the cable replacements. Might just go ahead and replace with a Valterra as suggested.

Have you lubricated the cable? I actually had one freeze up on me and it was caused from corrosion. After a considerable amount of effort I was able to get it gliding back and forth smoothly again. I always keep a can of WD40 and lubricate the cables every time after we dump our grey and black tanks.

Montanas come with Bristol stranded cable valves. Most replace with the Valterra solid cable valve. Lubrication is important regardless of which valve you have. A squirt of lubricant down on the cable (3 in 1 oil or ?) every time you dump helps.

Our grey pull has always been hard, but it's much better since I used Valterra valve lubricant in the tank. I do not use it all the time, only when it starts getting hard to pull or push closed. https://www.amazon.com/Thetford-Drai.../dp/B000BGK2L0

A penetrating oil like Deep Creep or PB Blaster would serve you better than WD-40. The latter is not really a lubricant, but a water displacement solution.
