Towing Guide
Can someone explain this to me? I am not looking for weight police advise. I have the 2007 Towing Guide from Trailer Life Mag. It shows the Silverado/Sierra 2500HD Ext Cab 4 WD Long bed 6.6L V-8 TD with the numbers of 12,000 / 14,800 lbs. According to the guide, first number is towing limits off the hitch and 2nd number towing limits of 5th wheel.
Now it also shows the 3500HD SRW everything the same as the 2500 with figures of 12,000 and 15,000 just 200 lbs more than the 2500.
OK so let’s look at the Silverado/Sierra 3500HD Ext Cab 6.6 V-8 TD 4 WD DRW. It shows 12,000 lbs /14,800/ 16,300.
Why do they show 3 weights for the Dully and why don’t they list Cargo Capacity for these trucks in the towing guide?
Doesn’t seem like they take pin weight into consideration. (Maximum) Is Trailer Life misleading people here with their towing guide?
