Axle Grease
I'm sure it's been asked before, but what type of grease should I use for my 2014 Monty? We have a 36RL and love it.

Assuming they are Dexter axles you can go to the Dexter web site, find the manual for your axles, and it will give a list of approved grease brands.

On the Dexter website you will also find videos on how to lube the EZ Lube axles as well as how to manually clean, inspect and repack bearings.

Over time, average grease has a tendency to cake and dry out. This is because oil has a natural tendency to drain out of the grease thickener, and this process is only expedited when the grease is subjected to heavy loads.
In time, complete drying and lower quality grease can reach a state of consistency ranging from hard putty to sandstone, depending on the thickener type and degradation conditions.
There are many causes for grease dry-out. Incompatible Grease. Accidental mixing of grease can lead to accelerated de-gelling and oil separation. For example, organic clay grease clashes with soap-thickened grease, and a mixture of a calcium sulfonate grease and a lithium based grease will cause problems if mixed.
To sum up, always use a good quality grease.

I have found that a good Canada based blend is great with a Sprite Zero, O'wait, we are talking about grease.
A good Red grease works for me. Remember, years ago (back in the 70's) we had good German made bearings and we repacked the bearings when we did a front brake job. Usually @ 20-40K miles. Now with our bearings made in China, a couple of years, need to do a clean and re-pack. If you have the EZ-lube and trust the rear seal, pump red grease in till you get clean red grease out. Figure at least 1/2 tube per wheel.
The OEM Dexter bearing pack is the 400 degree red grease which is the common grease used in disc brake applications. Available at basically every auto store.
