Guy Cooks

Hmmmm... Just wondering if there are any guys here that cook? I am one of those that keep a favorite recipe file that I have accumulated and only ones that are tried and easy. After all, I am a guy!

KOLCB...Here I thought I was the only one that cooked over a real campfire... Nice to see someone else does it.. Tonight I am making our favorite... Wood Grilled Shrimp.. 6 to 8 minutes over the coals with a little smoke for some Mesquite ...

I do all the outside cooking, campfire or grill. Patti does the inside stuff! I was a boy scout leader for 25 years and did a lot of different foods, but I'm afraid I've forgot a lot of the recipes since then.

I do most of the cooking. I found that I can pretty much get what I want when I do it. The wife has gladly relegated the kitchen to me (the grill has always been my domain). I just did a BBQ at our local airport for some pilots. Two whole tenderloins and a 20# Chinook salmon along with three salads, beer, wine, soda, water and coffee. My goal was to spend $700 left over from a club and I succeeded in spending every dime.

I do all the outside cooking, DW does breakfast inside, and we pretty much split the other meals cooked inside. We try not to cook inside any more then we have to. So far, I have gotten by without doing the clean up though. Not sure how much longer thats going to last as there has been some grumbling of late about the mess I tend to make.

Cook a lot inside and out. More outside. Have a Weber Q and a small gas stove that I use. Two of my favorites are BBQ Sausage, and Lemon Pepper Soy Sauce pork chops. Never leaving out Ribeyes. DW is the best cook. Chicken in convection oven that you would think was fried, crunchy crust, mmmm. Chicken pastry. Pot roast with potatoes carrots and onion. Biscuits. She's a southern cuisine specialist.

I usually do most all the cooking, I grill it, smoke it, fry it, bake it, I cook for one and have catered dinner for an entire prison, don't ask, only did it once never again....lol lol In fact there's an RV cook book out there with a couple of my recipes in it, RV Centennial Cookbook......But I don't get fancy with lots of strange ingredients, I only do down home, comfort style foods.

I'd be interested in that wood grilled shrimp, myself. How about giving it up, cwalker?

Smartest thing I ever did was burn the first meal I cooked for Brad - 20 years later, he still does 95% of the cooking.
