Kitchen sink
Just discovered a 1.5" crack in the bottom of the kitchen sink. Has anyone had a similar problem? Solution??? Thanks for the help.

We had similar cracks. Our counter top was replaced under warranty at the factory service center.

Where is the factory service center? This is one place I hope to never visit.

The factory service center is in Goshen, Ind near the Montana factory and near where we have the Fall rally. Actually it is a very good place to visit as they do outstanding work. Many of us set up visits if we are attending the fall rally.

Yeppers. We developed multiple cracks that spanned out like a spiderweb. The entire counter was just replaced under warranty, which included the sink covers as the new material is slightly (very slightly) different in color. Not enough to clash with the stove counter.
I believe there is more to the reason why the 2008 models are corian.

Sounds like there it may be a problem. Will be taking our unit into the dealer in a few days for them to finish up other warranty work that they had not completed prior to our warranty expiring on 1/4/08. For those who have had the counter replaced. Was the new counter installed to your satisfaction. Looks like it would be a problem getting it under the cabinet on the wall.
Thanks again, Dennis

Dennis - I understand your concern. Our Dealer did a great job as far as I can visualize, but we haven't actually used the unit since it was done last month.
The side and upper cabinet had to come out, so we unloaded those cabinets as well as the lower ones under the sink and the top drawer. We also unloaded the cabinet adjacent to the television.
Good luck and sorry it has happened.

I dont know if all you guys have the Corian sinks or not, but I do know that if it is a real Corian sink (undermount) they have a problem with "heat" such as HOT water and spagetti boiled hot water when you drain it. all there sinks will start to spider web crack and is not a quick fix usually means a new sink, and if its a contured sink to counter top then it's both. sounds like a factory job to me.

our counter in our new Big Sky has cracks in the curve and they say it is a 27 hour job to repair so we will wait till we get back to WI to have that fixed. The mobile service guy sprung his back yesterday so didn't show today but will try for tomorrow. I hope he does show cause we leave Mayport Tuesday and head for Savannah. Not sure he wants to drive all the way back there... Dave and Betsy

Don,
These are not the corian sinks - they are the molded fiberglass sink and countertops used in 2006 - 2007.
However - I remember the problem corian had with the sink cracks and I'm thinking it may still apply to these. I've seen the DW pour boiling water down there and I always worried about the tank and plumbing. I maybe should have been worrying about the sink itself.......now I'm going to have to tie her up and spank her for not listening to me .

Spankings???? Brad, I'm not going there.
I guess all those man made materals have that problem when they get hit with a major tempurature change. I guess thats why I like stainless so much, you cant hurt it.

We did get a chance to see one of the 10th anniversary Big Skys this week. The counters ARE real Corian, they have the little red transparent Corian logo inserts. They are not high gloss like the ones we got and shouldnt show scratches as badly as ours do. Hopefully we will get the new Corian top when they replace ours... Dave and Betsy

I suppose now that I'm out of warranty, if this top ever cracks again I would do corian and the undermount sink like the 08. Probably could just get it measured and do it local cheaper than ordering through Keystone.
Don, I think the new 08 models with Corian actually have a stainless undermount sink. I think (the Everest website has already been updated and has stainless as shown below - Montanas page is not ready yet, but the Everest and Montana are very close)

Brad, That is a great looking sink in that Everest. DW and I have always been partial to SS. I would think about replacing mine with this when it goes tango uniform....

Phil, I agree (I also notice it is 1 sink instead of 2). I wonder what the Montana is going to use.
The stainless does look good against that black, but I gotta admit I spent years trying to get rid of all the stainless in the house because it always looked dirty. I was kind of sad to see it come back.

Stainless Steel?
Baby Oil. Use a cheesecloth and wipe one direction across the grain.
It will shine like a baby's (...er) oil!

I think that is 2 sinks? One just has the cover on it maybe. I am looking at the "accessory" sink nozzles. Looks like they are in front of the 2nd sink?
