Should I buy a Fifth Airborne` Pin Box
We are the new owners of a 2001 Montana 3570RL and we pull it with our 2005 Ford F350 Diesal. We are suprised that we feel every bump and we are not looking forward to the long trip we are planning.
We will buy a Fifth Airborne Pin Box if that will help or if there is a better approach we would like to hear about it.
We appreciate any help we can get.
Lyn and Bill

We got our 5th Airborne and noticed an immediate improvement on the way home from having it installed. Carol has had surgery on a herniated disc on her upper spine and was in misery every time we traveled with our Monty. We, now, just wish we had it sooner. Others will post about their air hitches and air pins and their great experiences with them. I am sure that this is true. We only know personally of the 5th Airborne and endorse it highly. Also, Camping World has sales on it and we even got a $100 gift certificate with the purchase of ours. Whichever way you go, you will enjoy the ride a whole lot more after adding an air pin.

We have a 5TH Airborne pin box and are very happy with the way it smooths out the ride in the truck and inside of the 5er.
An investment we made that we feel was well worth the money.

Nothing will completely remove all roughness of a ride. We are completely satisfied with the results of our 5th Airborne. Since we all have different priorities and different budgets, we justify our expenditures and most of us think we made the best choice. Otherwise, we would have made a different choice. My choice was made on the basis of outcome vs. cost. At this point I am happy with both. By-the-way, PPL RV has them for $689.00.

You might investigate the Trailair. It is very similar to the 5th Airborne, the shock is in the front instead of the rear and the hinge points are reversed. I don't know if the hinge point location [front vs rear] affects the results or not.

I`am another 5th AirBorne believer. It made a big difference in the ride.
That being said I just don`t think you could beat the performance of a good air hitch. On the expensive side though.

Agree...the air hitch is better, but, IMHO, not three or four times better (that's what the cost comparison is).
