Front Cap Strip Led Lights

On our 2017 we have LEDs on the front cap that we refer to as eye brows and mouth . Both the eye brows have gaps from non functioning leds. My question is whether a new strip of these ribbon lights can be cut off the roll and electric leads hooked to the cut ends.

Yes and several of us here have done so. You will find the actual wiring feeding the lights in a small hole to one end of the existing strip lights. Simply disconnect and remove old strips. Install new strips and connect to existing wiring.

Replace the entire strip or strips.

DO NOT DROP EXISTING WIRING INTO THE HOLE! It will never be seen again. LOL

Thanks for your response. I know that there is a wire lead in the hole and that a new strip will have leads on the end to splice to. The new strip is 16 ft long. Do I use the first peice with the leads, cut it off at the right length, and throw away the rest or is it possible to add leads on to the cut end.?

Yes. Use the first piece with the leads. Simply cut it to length as you stated. I wouldn't throw the remainder away though. Many places you could use it. You can certainly solder new leads to a cut end of a new strip. I used our leftover inside the island storage on a switch.

You can solder a small lead onto the cut portion and connect that to the factory harness. Your new LED 16' should indicate where you can safely cut and connect the leads. I'd also use clear shrink wrap and a little silicone over the new lead to keep moisture out of them. Good luck.
