Lippert "Betterweigh Mobile Towing Scale"

Received an email today from Lippert. They are promoting their "Betterweigh Mobile Towing Scale" for a little over $100. Didn't see how it works, but for the price that might be a good toy to add to my collection. Anyone looked in to it? Wonder exactly how it works?

It plugs into your OBD-II port under your drivers side dash. It uses the difference between driving unhooked versus hooked up, to calculate the weight of the trailer. It is not exact but gives a ballpark. There is one on amazon for $89.

The item hasnt been on the market for long, so the price is still settling. I imagine competitors will soon hit the market bringing it even lower.

Spend the $12 and go to a Truck Scale and get exact numbers.
