We have used the convection oven with no problems. Haven't really played around with the 1/2 part but I like the convection part and it has done a good job on everything we have tried. We always use the metal tray.
Happy trails..........................

Cheryl should have used it, she just missed the 2nd time. No "consequences" anywhere in the manual, Colleen, for not using the metal tray in 1/2 time mode. Also, no explanation as to why it's necessary, or what it's purpose is. And certainly no warning of the dangerous results that occurred, and catastrophic failure of the unit that could have easily burned the entire fifth wheel to the axles...

I would politely suggest to Apollo that they re-write their manual. Or maybe just let Rich call them for me... He has the abiltiy to get people's attention...

Do any of the manuals say that if you do this you won't be happy with the results? I read in the manual that you do have to use the metal tray when cooking except in the microwave mode. I don't remember reading where it would damage it if you didn't. I guess I need to go back and reread.

I am interested in who uses this oven and how successful they are when cooking in them. If this thing is a piece of junk I would rather just have a microwave oven instead.
I don't cook anymore, so I either use the convection or 1/2 time oven or grill outside. The micro/convection oven works Great! Pizzas really bake more evenly in the convection oven than the gas oven in my unit. I guess because the tray rotates. Other than the W/D and 2nd A/C that convection/microwave oven is one of the best things I like about my unit. As you know, they are optional in some other units including Sunnybrook. Allison

Dave, CONGRATULATIONS on your new unit and your full-timing status. As you may know, I've been full-timing now since April and so far I LOVE IT! Especially having the convenience of a camp store and other ammenities when you have friends and family stop by. Take care! Allison
