Last Friday it was $4.20 in Seward. On Bernie's way to work this morning, they were changing the prices to $4.36 a gallon.

It appears the high price of fuel has taken it's toll. Inventories are up and the price of crude is down almost $10/bbl in the last two days. Hope this translates to lower prices at the pumps.

The oil companies know we will pay that 4.XX amount (grumble but still pay it). There is no incentive for them to lower it. We have one station here that is still 399.9; the rest went to 445.9 and have held there for a few days now...

Pull your unit around with Clydesdales??
Sorry Rich, still working on that first cup of coffee, brain puts out "interesting" stuff during that time frame!
Are we all sufficiently frustrated yet?? Just remember, if you are driving a "D", you are most likely getting 50% more miles for your $$ than a "G".

Carol: Still working on my first caffeine fix as well -- I just had this image of a Montana caravan crossing the prairie out on the Santa Fe trail!!! Lord, what a nightmare that would be - fording a river. Have to have one heck of an ox or horse team hooked up!!!
All: By the way, diesel went down at one station from 445.9 to join the others at 399.9.... is is a trend (or just wishful thinking.....)???

Mostly true carol - I keep trying to tell myself that everytime I fill as it's close to 100 bucks a pop now. The colder temps haven't given me much relief either as the mileage drops hard in the cold.
Sometimes I wish I could park this beast, but it is my daily work truck.
Prices actually went down 7 cents yesterday...to 3.92

Hay and grain, Rich. We all know what's happening with the price of grain, due to ethanol production. Hay is baled and hauled by tractors and equipment using diesel/gas, which means the price of hay is skyrocketing. With the price of keeping horses, we may all have to switch over to automobiles!
I also happen to know that Helen enjoys her work/play at Disney enormously, while you are stuck with the enviable task of bird-sitting.
Just so people don't start feeling sorry for Helen...

Mostly $3.79 in Denver area, but I saw a sign yesterday for $3.99. And so it goes....
Most of our camping will be local this year. Luckily, we live in Colorado, so it's still nice.

Working for diesel fuel Is Helen's excuse for working as many hours as she can at Disney. She loves working at the Magic Kingdom. Says she is have more fun that she ever had working for the good old FAA. Diesel fuel stayed level today at 4.039. The high prices are hurting a lot of folks around here as this is not a high, or even a reasonable wage area.

Well at the ARCO station down the street it was 4.13 in the morning, When I went by late afternoon it had went down to 3.99 there was no tanker there today to fill it up, so why the sudden drop in price in just a few hours? I wonder if they communicate to each other over those staelite dishes on there roofs and get there prices that way.
OH WELL ..........................!

Well yes they do Don..Those dishes are, among other things, a direct real time link to corporate HDQ of any of the major oil companies.
Communications can be instant and prices can vary hour to hour. There are people paid to watch that kind of stuff to make sure we are paying the "fair market value" for the product. Such is life in the 21st century.

I put in $50.00 last nite here in the RGV at $3.79 a gallon. I always try to keep it topped off from the half tank level if I see, excuse the words "a cheap price". We did our best yesterday when we shopped to put things in our own non plastic carry bags, we may have saved a tablespoon of oil.
