Jeff - do you think the magnet catches would work for the front bay baggage door? My little OEM hook/latch (hold open) is not the best.

You talking about the one under the overhang? They might, I don't really know since the magnets would have to hold the door up horizontally. It's possible but you'd have to do it to find out.

I tried those and they were not deep enough to touch when the door was opened the whole way. I ended up using them on the battery compartment door. Not sure they would be strong enough to hold up the horizontal door on the front of the camper.

I had two of these so far, they started to rust fairly quickly and lost magnetism. I wish I had coated the metal parts in clear nail polish. That may have extended its life.

I remembered you (or someone) said that. So I went with the ones painted black.
Came in 2 pack. If first ones rust, I’ll paint the second one.

Mine is a different brand too.

Black part still is good. The magnetic chrome part is what rusted quickly. I think the black is aluminum or some pot metal.

rohrmann +1 T-style door holders is what we installed.
2022 295RL; even with friction hinges wind will still blow door around.

I ordered a stainless T-stle but haven't installed it yet. Rig is on the way to Elkhart for sidewall crack repair.

I installed the same magnets that they are using on the basement/storage doors. Work great.

You experience gave me an idea. I have truck touch up paint pen that has clearcoat on one side. I put the clearcoat on the metal parts. Will s how that works. Being your in a wetter/humid environment and I am mostly out west in a drier environment, it might be just fine.

I think that may work...for a while at least. Good thinking.
