Interesting idea, but several issues come to mind. First what would be the pay back time when you figure cost of installation as well as the cost of the unit? Second, how often do you camp and not pay for the electricity. Out here in AZ and NM every park we stayed at charge for electricity separate from rent if you stay a month, several have charged if you stay a week and two charged for actual usage on overnights. Third, we have stayed at parks out here that only have 30amps. The unit would need to be able to switch from 50amps to 30amps with a user control, not just by the way it was wired. In short, to me it sounds like an idea behind its time. Would have been great before electricity was a separate charge at least if you camp in the Southwest.

The owner wanted me to install them, he sent me a training video and average install times.
In my opinion, the only way this could pay is to install them in the RV factories.
Too much labor involved. And I wouldn't want the cheapest bidder's install.

Ozz, I agree! The website said it could be installed in 5 hours which probably means it's closer to 8. So add 8 hours of labor to $880 and you are most likely approaching $2000. Unless you full time in colder climes, it would take a long time for that to pay for itself, and what if you decide to buy a new trailer in a few years? As for Ozz's comment about the installation quality, I'll only say we've all seen some of the screw ups made on minor things by the highly trained staff of some RV places.
