King Mattress in 331RL

Hello All,

I have searched and can't seem to find the size for a King size mattress in a 2019 HC 331RL. We currently have a standard Queen (60x80) and the wife would like to move to a king. The camper has a king platform. I am looking at mattresses and see several sizes for a RV. Our bead has side shelves that are above the mattress. There is 67" between the tables. What have others replaced with in terms of size? 70x80 72x80?

70 x 80 is the rv king. It'll fit under the night stand shelves. It's a pain making the bed just fyi.

Have you called your dealer? We have a 2019 331RL LOVE LOVE LOVE this rig.

Sorry I do not recall measurements.

We switched ours FROM a King TO a Queen. A lot of room lost having a King. In our opinion. Difficult to make the bed too.

We bought our Queen at a regular Mattress Store.

Spent a couple hundred bucks for the best and softest mattress ever. No foam junk for us.

Hopefully someone here has your answer.

How much do those sleep numbers run, if I may ask? We have been through so many mattresses and this is the bed I plan to get next! For the house and one day for the camper.

Thanks!

They just had a sale going, but don't recall the price. They're not cheap, but you get to adjust each side of the bed to your liking.
Check the sleep number site for prices as they seem to always have sales going on.

Do you lose the underneath storage with the Sleep Number. We sleep on one at home and absolutely love it. Hate to give up the under bed storage.

We have a 2010 3150 RL with a king. We'd like to go with a queen, is there any reason we can't use the spare queen mattress we have in the house? It has the same measurements as an RV queen. It is I believe a tad thicker.

Our rig came with the normal cheap RV King mattress, 72 X 80 X 8" thick, which was below the little side shelves on each side. We finally gave up and had a custom mattress made, the same size but made with latex foam and upholstered on both sides so it could be flipped. We also had the two corners made with the 12" radius like the original so it would clear the one cabinet.

We finally downsized and yaked out the OEM King and installed this 14 inch thick Queen.. I also added a nite stand on each side ( not sanded or stained yet ) that just slides into the area on each side of the new Queen mattress...

That's an impressive install ChuckS, looks really good.

I went the opposite direction for ours. It came with the 72" X 80" RV king that was about 10" thick. My wife has some chronic back issues and we've been TempurPedic people for many years now. We're both used to it and find it very comfortable.

The only difference in size between a standard size California king and an RV king is the standard is 4' longer. After doing some measuring I realized that if I kept the movable part of the bed platform raised whenever the slide was retracted it would clear the dresser on the opposite wall vertically.

I tore out the OEM mattress, reinforced the platform supports, added 4 heavy duty hinges, and installed a heavier gas strut system. I found some cylinder locks that clamp onto the strut rods and am planning to add an additional prop rod similar to a car hood rod to ensure it can't fall during transit.

I ordered an 11 inch deep TempurPedic California king and made it clear to the sales guy that I wanted it installed in an RV. He said they had done RV installs before and by watching those guys shoe horn that thing in place he didn't lie. I wish I had videoed that process, it was mildly impressive.

I did lose 4" of walking space at the foot of the bed, but after weighing the amount of time we would be walking opposed to the amount of time spent sleeping, there was no contest. I did have some concerns about the additional load on the slide motors with the extra 60-70 pounds I added, but doesn't seem to be an issue.

I think one of the most sleep disruptive things is trying to adjust to another mattress while RVing or staying in a hotel. I've read that it normally takes about 14 days to adjust. My goal was to have the Monty feel like the mattress in our house, it's very similar.

We put a regular King in our 2020 331rl. I took out those aggravating shelves and put one under the window beside my recliner for remotes. We pull it down to change sheets and slide back!

RV King excess to our needs

I have a Thomas Payne RC King that came in our 2021 Montana 3761FL. It fits under the side shelves in our rig.
We removed it before using and installed a Sleep number mattress. If anyone has a need, We are in Wisconsin and would sell it for $100.
