Your map, your rules

As for us, we follow the "must have slept in that state at least one night" rule.
Also, when we purchased a new RV in 2018, we restarted from a blank map.

We are curious at to what some of you use as your guidelines for your US map...
We must do two of three things while on a trip - camp in the state, eat at a local restaurant, go to a local museum/monument/attraction.

We have ours on our bed slide. We have a rule, the RV has to be in the state or province to be able to put the sticker on the map. So far we are missing North Dakota, Delaware, Hawaii, LOL, Northwest Territory and Nunavut. We will get N. D. and Northwest Territory but Delaware, not!

In early 2000's doing contract work in Alabama, wife wanted Indian feather tattoo. The artist was good, so I had the state of Texas tattooed on left calf. Back in Texas my son remarked I should have the RV map on my back and had the tattoo placed there. He said I could fill the tattooed map as we traveled with my work.

We go by the rule of having to camp at least one night. Just driving through seemed like it's not much of an achievement....but hey, do what you wanna do! 🙂

There is a road going to Alaska; just get on it and start driving. Or, you could travel the Alaska Marine Highway on a ferry ($$$).

We got Alaska, BC, Yukon, NWT for the third time last year; great trip. Tough ones for us are going to be Nunavut and the Atlantic provinces; but working on it.

I think you have to eat at a Waffle House in the state.

Drove, we live in BC drove north into Yukon then across the top of the world highway from Dawson City, Yukon to Chicken Alaska. Etc. Easy for us BCers.

Your RV, your rules. I believe we have satyed at least overnight in most, if not all of the states shown on our map. Even Kansas**

We would probably have filled about everything in but CA, WA and OR this year had it not been for the pandemic though years back before an~ 10 year RVing break, they too were at least traversed.

**That's a joke, in case someone gets testy!

That would be a tough one. Been to Hawaii, but not with RV. If I have been there, I'm counting it. It is my personal experience map; not necessarily an RV or camping map.

This is where my saying of "Been thru it, but not to it" comes in.

So unlike everyone else it seems, if I haven't experienced it first hand, it doesn't go in the record book. Spend at least one night there, you betcha!

This like saying "I've been to the gym"...when in reality, all I did was eat a couple donuts in their parking lot while using their free wifi. So this statement is misleading, and that's not right.
