Tst tire temp/ pressure system

How many use the recommended 158 deg F for the high temperature setting as TST suggest? That seems to be awfully high to me!

You likely will never see temps that high. The reason that setting is in there at that temp is because Michelin did study’s and determined that failures from high temperatures usually occur above that number. Do yourself a favor and leave it there so you don’t get nuisance alarms. You can still see the temps being read, but if traveling on black pavement in the desert with the sun shining on the tires, you will be surprised at how high they will actually get. Also, don’t lock in your pressures too tight or you will get nuisance alarms there too. We run 110 psi tires, so I have the low pressure set at 100 psi and I have the high pressure well above the 110 psi setting, and have had no problem. More concerned with losing air that trying to worry about high pressure. Once in a great while we will pick up an errant radio signal that will cause the receiver to alarm for high pressure, usually around 500 psi, and I have to turn off the receiver and turn it back on. No way a wheel or tire will jump that high, much less still being intact.

We've used TST for 9 years of full timing and always left the temp setting alone.

TST 507 in use for 6 years now. G rated 14 ply tires inflated at 110 psi cold. Tire temps when towing in 90 degree and above have hit 135 to 138 towing at 62 mph. Sunny side always reads 10 degrees higher than shady side when towing.

I’d leave the setting alone.
