Fantastic fan rain sensor

Hi All, Anyone had trouble with the rain sensor? and can it be replaced? I have power to the fan, When we turn it on we get a beep and will not open. I assume its the sensor that is causing the problem. We have the standard thermostat that will turn the fan on and off , It does not have any lights or any type of sensor bybass that I am aware of.

Try cranking it open by hand, using the little knob. Mine have stuck shut from time to time when they arn't used for extended periods of time like over the winter or during the hot summer.

I have had to take steel wool to my rain sensors on previous rigs. It could be that the sensor is shorted out by some kind of corrosion and that is telling it to stay closed. If you manually open the lid, you can look at the sensor from on the roof. It is a plated squiggly line affair. And while up there you can push the plunger type switch to see if your issue is probably related to the switch located in the fan assembly that tells the fan motor to turn on after the lid has opened enough or the lid is stuck to the rubber seal.

The fan over the island always refuses to open after not been used for a long time. As DQDick said open it up by hand and then it will work as it should. I've applied 303 on the seal and also tried silicone to stop the seal from sticking without any luck.

I had a vent that would shut down for no reason, rain sensor would activate every ten minutes or so. I called airmaxx and they sent me out a new circuit board and that took care of the problem. Was super easy to do, took about 15 minutes and is all done from the inside and it is all plug and play

Years ago my Fantastic Fan stuck and would not open. I called them and lady said I should go on roof and open by hand to break the seal. And she would send something to clean the rubber gasket with. What she sent was a small pack of 303. Cleaned it well with that and has never stuck again, even after sitting for long periods.

I can open with the manual handle , Its not stuck to the seal. It beeps when I try to open or turn on the fan. Got to be related to the rain sensor.
