Furnace Quit

Hi everyone,
I am preparing for a trip south to AZ from Wy this weekend and last week set the furnace at 45. It is getting a bit cool up here in Wyoming at night and did not want to chance freezing up. The furnace came on no problem and warm air was blowing from the vents. I went out tonight to load some things and turned up the thermostat and all I got was a "click". I checked the fuses and all were ok..also checked all the breakers since I am plugged into a landline and also all ok. Checked the propane tanks and they are both full. Lit the stove to make sure I was getting gas and it worked fine. Everytime I turn up the thermostat all I get is "click"
Has anyone else had this problem? Since I am 150 miles from the nearest dealer, thought maybe someone else has experienced this and knows a quick fix. Funny that it has always worked fine then all of a sudden it decides to not work right before a trip.

Thanks for any help!

CHOPSTYX57.....Mine did the same thing about a year ago. It turned out to be a bad circuit board. Easy to replace, but a bit pricey at $200. RV Service shops will test your board for a small fee.

It does indeed sound like the igniter board has gone bad on you. But check for loose wires, the thermostat, the fuses..... But my guess is the board. Your rig should still be under warranty. So get the dealer to send you a board or take it the 150 miles to get it done. Good luck.

Just had the same thing happen. Called the dealer..talked for an hour, did everything service tech suggested, nothing! He said we would have to bring it and leave it for a week. Not good since we fulltime. Went back a day later and it started. Only thing I can figure is there was a bubble or void in the line that had to dissolve or whatever they do to dissipate. Just guessing mind you. Been working ever since. Had a suggestion from a fellow at work to bleed the line. Don't know how to do that since everything is enclosed. Good luck and happy trails.
PS. Service guy also said it might be the controller board. Ours furnace (3295RK) is very difficult to access. Don't know if I could have replaced. Looked like a service shop job if that was the case.

Same thing happened to me last month. Took it to the dealer and he fixed it inabout 5 minutes
Small kink in the propane hose. Gas pressure must be at a certain level
for the igniter to light. Might be worth checking. Cheap fix.

I know this is a silly question but have you checked to make sure you have propane and that the valve is turned on. Like I said..... silly because I know you've checked that already.

That happened to ours and we had to end up taking it to the dealer and they replaced the board for us also. It was a 1 day fix but they had to order the part.

Thanks to all,
I drove the 150 miles yesterday and the dealer got it up and running. They said it was the high limiter switch (whatever that is). Unfortunatly they left my basement door open and latched when they opened the slides and crunched the door....have to remember that on a 3400rl...of course they are replacing with no hesitaiton.

Thanks again to all!

Glad they fixed it but too bad about the door, see even the dealer does stupid stuff so when you do it yourself, you won't feel as bad.
