How to Jack UP a 2955 RL

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am going around and around on how to jack up my 2955 Easley. The bottle jack works but it requires a lot to get it done. I tried Trailer-Aid today and it will not lift the other wheel off the ground. Called Trailer-Aid and they said that with Morey-ride their product will not work.

Any body found a better way for me to change brakes or a flat tire other than a bottle jack on the fram?

Bottle jacks and heavy duty jack stands seem to be a good answer.

Put lumber under the jack if it won't go high enough.

good question
on a flat i had i bottled jacked on the axel it worked but word is don't mess with the axels
also it did take a lot of action on the jack as the suspension really rocked till the good tire topped out
i also picked up a trailer aid and it didn/t do the job, next time i plan to put a few leveler pads under aid
mikey

Just the way I did mine 2 each. 4 pieces .. 2x10 x 15 inches long nailed together. then 1 each 2 pieces 2x10 x 12 inches nailed together and 1 each 1 piece 2x10 12 inches long. butt the 2 pieces 15 inches long end to end then put the 1 that is stacked 2 pieces high in front of those then the 1 piece you are making a ramp more or less pull the trailer up and have each wheel on one of the 15 inch long pieces. leave the truck connected for stability. get your bottle jack and lift one axel remove one of the 15 inch long boards next use a jack stand that is able to hold 4 tons under that axel. do the same to the next axel. you can remove the tires on one side of the monty at a time. reverse order to get back off. or go buy 2 bottle jacks 12 ton each and lift both axels at the same time the only problem is getting the wheels low enugh to clear the skirting that why i did the boards.

I'll second Dennis's method. I'm curious as to the original posters comment ... "requires a lot to get it done". Throw a piece of wood on the ground ... place jack on top of wood under or in-between U-bolts ... pump the jack 2 - 3 dozen strokes while placing a jack stand near by for good measure ... remove tire. What am I missing?

Thanks to all who responded to my Jacking up the 2955.

I will finish the brake change today with all of your ideas. I was just trying not to jack on the axels themselves.

Thanks

The object is not to put the jack directly on the axle tube, but place it under the spring pad, puts no more pressure on the suspension that way then it would get driving over one of those speed humps you find in some campgrounds. Or if you lucky as some of us with the Level-up System, you just raise the rig up.
