I don't think they add a ton of energy savings but I'm convinced they really dampen the noise. I do like the looks of the frameless style on the new units. Jim

The spec's on the windows do not say much on the R factor..very low.But they do have a noise dampening factor. We do not think they are worth the $$ as we stay in moderate climates and have never noted a problem with noise.

Worth the money for lower noise levels and does help with the water condensation problem when cold weather camping. Window frames also seem better constructed to handle the additional weight.

I have never been a fan of the dual pane as I felt there was no value in them. That being said, when I ordered my current coach, the sales rep and factory rep talked me into ordering them. Being in temps as low as -22 this winter, I can say that there is a huge difference. They do help with noise, but they also did a nice job at keeping the warm temps inside. I am now a fan and will be ordering them in all of my future rigs.

We have had one Montana without and now one with them. Our next one will have them also. They damper the outside noise and they don't have a problem with water condensation in cold weather.

As many others have said we got them on our second TT and have had them on every rig ever since.

We ordered them to get away from the condensation in cold weather. Never own an RV without them again. They do help in cold weather to keep the FW warmer we believe.

We were talked out of ordering them, and have no regrets. The reasons given were extra weight, extra $$, more costly to replace if broken, and minimal return on investment. Noise has not been a factor for us, and even though we live in Florida, we do often go where it gets a lot colder, and have had no problems in that regard either. I guess it boils down to personal preference; if you feel they would be right for you, by all means get them.

If you never leave Florida you may not need them but for sound reduction they are great and a huge difference in moisture condensation if you camp at all in cool weather. As others have said our 1st 5er didn't have them but now we will never be without them.

Most of the cons haven't had them. The pros have had both and heartily recommend them. I, too, had one unit without and then got a Big sky with. A world of difference! I have no axe to grind and no soap box to mount. These are the facts of my experience.

We have them too and have been happy with them. We would purchase them again if we ever replace our unit.

I wish that I had them and have been considering replacing some of the bigger windows with them.

In the cold I can feel the chill radiating off of them and in the heat... the heat.

the only time that I like the single pane is on a winter desert morning. Soon as the sun comes up the windows start heating up and helping provide some passive solar warming.

Thanks everyone for your inputs. We're going with the dual pane. Seems like a worthwhile option to us.

We must be doing something wrong. I can not remember our windows having condensation except when Helen was cooking on the
stove. We do keep the roof vents cracked a bit for airflow. We have always been in mild climates perhaps if we did cold weather camping we would have dual panes.

We do not have them and have had some condensation in cooler weather. We have fantastic fans in the bedroom, bath and kitchen. One or more of these fans will remove the condensation from the windows in a very short time. We do not spend much time in freezing weather, so frozen condensation is not an issue for us. The fans do suck the heat out of the trailer but since they only run for a short time, inside temps recover rapidly.

Our winter in Arizona recently made me wish that we had dual pane windows because of some of the freezing weather we had. Several mornings with moisture on the inside and could feel a draft from the windows. This year we had record heat, cold and rain within 3 week period.
