reccomended grease
I've pulled my rig just a couple of time now and everything I read on the King Pin is grease it up. I have a Reese hitch with a slide (due to having a short bed truck). Would anyone reccomend a good grease or just some good old WTR? Also should I grease the slide portion as well?

Use a dry lube on the rails. Regular grease attracts dirt and will scratch the rails. I use a teflon ring on the pin.
Take a look at this

I use wheel bearing grease on the pin (which is cleaned and regreased yearly) and a teflon ring around the pin for hitch contact.

I also use a teflon (or something) ring on the hitch and just a little grease on the king pin itself. Much cleaner than greasing the whole hitch plate.
Don't have a slider, so can't comment on that.

I do the same as Tom S but include a little dry lube on the slide and rollers. Jim

I also use a teflon ring between my pin box and hitch. I may coat the pin itself with a bit of hard grease, but just a bit. If you grease the fifth wheel plate like an OTR trucker does, you'll have it ear to ear in no time ... I guarantee it. The teflon ring works great.
