1st Shake Down Trip

This weekend, we finally get to shake down the new HC. We have a longer trip planned for early April to Arizona. This weekend to Ruidoso, NM, for three days to sort out the new stuff. Heck I might actually use the awning on this one. Wife has the draws and cupboards line and loaded. She appears to ready. Will dewinterize Friday and leave Saturday. Really looking forward to this.

Use it hard and take notes on any problems, it will pay off by having your dealer to tend to everything during the warranty period. Congrats on the new adventures that await you!

You should enjoy the trip to Ruidoso; however, stay away the Ruidoso Downs. It is easy to drop a whole paycheck betting on the horses. Otherwise, that is a beautiful part of the country to see...and it isn't too far from White Sands National Monument.

We're here in Lakewood, NM until Friday. With the wind we've had the last couple of weeks you may need to rethink the awning tryout. Went to White Sands yesterday and by the time we got to the dunes it was a total white out. Coming down the mountain from Cloud Croft it looked like a cloud below us, when we got there it was a white sand storm. Got some great pictures, but anyway, enjoy the new rig and be careful with the awning.

DQ, the wind has been really bad, and is suppose to be bad Thurs and Friday, but much better Saturday, our old one was manual, with the electric, I may just have to give it a try.---Lasater, I know about the downs, I hit it pretty regularly, and a few years ago, I train race horses for a number of years. Now I just hit the casinos and give it to em that way, no handicaping a roullete table. :-)

Our first shakedown will begin April 1st. A month long stay at Ho Hum up in the Florida Panhandle. Wish we could get away sooner.

Its really kind of funny, we took everything out of the old one and it was fully equiped (I thought anyway), but.............. everytime we go to the store, another chunk of change goes to added to the new HC. Oh well, I guess it really never stops, just part of the fun and adventure. Adding a transfer tank to the TV, but I can do that next weekend.

Well, day two of the shakedown trip, pulled in quartering 30mph(passenger/headon)winds yesterday, no issues. Got everything set up and nothing broke or fell off. Last night got down to 24 degrees F. This thing is way better insulated then the Sydney was. Furnace worked great(very quite) and cycled on very rarely, wife even got up and turn therm to 67, I had it at 70. Park owners still has everyone unhooking from water system at night due to freezing temps, so we had the opportunity to run off the fresh water tank and pump for awhile, yep going to have to quite that pump down, it was as loud as the Sydneys was before we worked on it. This afternoon was warm bright sunshine, warmed up really good, opened a window and ran fantastic fan. Really a great trip. So thus far, other then the noisey water pump, WE ARE HAPPY CAMPERS.
