Locked in

Cleaning up the inside yesterday getting ready for the next trip. I started to go out and the door would not open. I tried for several minutes trying to get out and had just about decided to climb out a emergency exit window or the laundry chute when I noticed the 4 screws were loose on the latch. Fortunately I had a screw driver inside. I took the screws out and removed the inside portion of the latch. Then I took the screw driver and pushed the slide portion of the latch back and opened the door. The loose screws had allowed the tang on the handle to slip past the slide rendering it inoperable.
I put it back together and tightened the screws and it works fine now.
Just another thing to keep an eye on to make sure it stays tight.

I did Loc-tite thing on my door. I had to do that on the last rig also, those screws seem to vibrate out on most RVs.

Same thing just happen to us this weekend. Sent my 12 year old son out the window to open the door. There is now a screw driver in the kitchen drawer.
