Dryer Vent Location

I have a '06 Montana 3295RK. I am installing a stacked washer/dryer in the closet located just inside the front door.

Can anybody tell me where the studs are located, in this area, before I make the hole for the dryer vent.

Thanks.

My '07 3400 RL has none in that area. I can not speak to yours, but maybe someone can chime in. Also, you might call your selling dealer and ask them. (if you dare to trust their info.)

Larry,
I'm assuming you are wanting to vent to the outside. If you have some humidity in the area, when there is dew on the exterior shell, you can actually see the outline of the studs. You may actually be able to mist the side of the trailer and see them. That's the WAG principle until someone actually knows dimensions.

Larry, our Montana was ordered with the w/d prep and had a decal on the wall for the vent. I think the decal said something like install vent on this wall. If it was w/d prepped, it should be real easy to pick it out, there was no wall studs on that area.
Hope your decal is still there!

Thanks for the inputs guys.

Immel, you were right. The decal was tucked up under one of the wire racks and once the DW had the closet filled I never noticed it. Thanks.

Another issue, there is a decal on the other wall that says that the water from the washer drains into the black water tank. I've looked under my unit and it looks like the drain pipe enters the 4" black water pipe, between the dump connector and where the 4" pipe comes out of the bottom of the coach. I also unscrewed the washer drain pipe cap and I can't smell sewage.

I'm thinking the decal is wrong and that the washer drains directly to the sewer connector. Any thoughts?

My 3400 drains direct to the sewer outlet and does not enter either the grey or black tanks.

Our 05 3400 drains into the gray tank. However, our bathroom sink drains into the black tank. You can test all of this by emptying your tanks and then run water down the drain and see which tank fills up.
Happy trails......................

If you don't want a big hole in the side of the rig you can come out the back of the dryer with a round to flat transition piece and run it into the basement next to the side door and then down through the floor. I am not sure it will work with a stackable. I think if you check out my mods I have some pictures there.

Good luck with the addition...

Larry,

Sue is right, do a dump test.

There was a time frame when the washer/dryer DID dump right INTO the black tank. There were a few very upset owners when that change was made, and it did not last long, but you need to know where that washer water is gonna go. To not know, could turn ugly.

This is what we did....
Ok for all of you that have the 3400RL with the washer drain that goes into the black tank I have a fix if you’re ready to drop the panels and fix the problem with the poor engineering design from keystone.

First you will have to cut the drain line as it enters the black tank vent pipe, leaving about an inch on the vent pipe to allow you to glue a dead end cap on it.

Next you will have to cut wood next to drain pipe to allow it to turn far enough to clear vent pipe then using a 45 degree fitting, and straight pipe to a 90 degree fitting with a straight section down through floor to another 90 degree fitting then a straight piece to a 45 degree fitting, then a straight section into a 3 fitting with a end down to a 1.50 fitting.

As you can see there is no insulation in the section where the holding tanks are located, and the heat line into the belly is on the aft side of the tanks.

Beware even after doing this to always open the drain before using the washer, if you don’t it will not be able to vent, and will overflow into the washer and dryer closet!!!

Ok it’s time to have fun, and remember this will make the DW very happy!!!
