Low Water Pressure

Just came back from our first weekend trip and I'm still frustrated with the low water pressure. Even with the water pump. You can't even take a decent shower, because the water barely flows through the shower head. I've used the same size pipes in S&B houses before and never had this small amount of flow. I've even changed hose diameter to try and get more but no joy. I thought about getting an adjustable pressure regulator to increase the pressure, but I can't find how much pressure the rig can handle anywhere. Does anybody know? Is there something internal that's limiting the pressure? If so, where would it be? DW is getting really frustrated too. And you all know, if Mama ain't happy, Nobody's happy.

First thing you need to do is get a pressure regulator. It won't increase the flow but it will protect you from too high pressure. I would also get one with a gage on it so you know if the problem is in the rig or in the campground. Low water pressure is a frequent problem in some parks and campgrounds. Too high is rare, but also possible and will damage your rig. I have my regulator set on 60psi others set theirs higher or lower.

Not sure what the max pressure rating on the internal piping on the Montana's is but I did away with the cheap Wal-Mart preset pressure regulator and bought the one in the link below. It's adjustable and I run ours around 60-65psi and have never had any problems. Sometimes the water pressure in the campground is low and there is nothing that can be done about that. Tim

I would check the water inlet valve. Could have gunk in it affecting water flow. If you have a standard pressure regulator, they also can collect gunk.

It sounds like a have turned valve or a kink in the line.

look at the shower head and hose. some of them have a small hole to save water. sometimes the disc will come out or you can open up the holes for more flow. Also on the pumps look for an adjustment screw to increase pressure for the pump.

Ditto the Oxyenics shower head, especially if that's where you're having low pressure issues.

Is this occurring at all faucets or just the shower?

If this occurs only in the shower, take the shower head off of the hose and check for water flow and pressure. This should give you a starting point for the faucet or somewhere before the faucet. You can do the same thing for each faucet location. Remove the diverter to see if the water flow and pressure is proper. It is not unusal to have the screens become clogged.

We use the Wal-Mart pressure regulators also. We have had them plug up and have had to be replaced. If you are using a pressure regulator, we would recommend that you check that first.

Another thing that happened to us when we were using the cheap pressure regulators was that we got to a COE park and the screen in the regulator pushed on the little white plastic part that sticks out of their backflow preventers they had on their faucets causing the backflow preventer to cut pressure.
