Replace Window Torque Operators???
Anyone know how to do that?
Both window operators on those two windows below the large rear window are broken.
On one, I pulled the knob, the screen, the C-clips attaching to the arms, slid the springs out of the way, then removed the three screws from the torque operator.
Darned if I can get it out of there. I thought I could just slide the operator down the vertical groove until the cross-rod would come out, then pull out and replace the operator. But, the round crank arm the knob attaches to goes through a cutout in the window frame as well as the inside decorative frame. I could remove that decorative frame but am stumped at how to deal with the window frame itself without removing the big rear window or at least risking it dropping to the concrete.
Anyone ever do this and willing to give me some pointers?
By the way, I bought three of the operators so to have a spare in case the dining window needs one someday. However, these things are left-hand and right-hand. I bought all the place had in stock (3) and they are all LH. I need just one LH and two RH so I can replace just the one for now until I can return the others and get a couple of the RH operators somewhere.
Ozz, I may be contacting you about getting these parts from your new RV parts store.
Thanks.
