Since we have an older model of Monte, our converter replacement was a little easier but of course I had an RV tech do ours and I had Good Sam Replacement coverage also. It stils cost me about $200 but the the wiring was nearly the same mess and there was plenty of sawdust all over also.

I'm happy about all that extra wire. Try working on today's cars and trucks where manufacturers have made harnesses that are just long enough to reach their connection. If you have to replace a connection, you end up having to splice in more wire.

I have not yet looked at what is behind our converter but from what I have seen in other places on our new rig I must say I'm impressed with what I've seen. The wiring appears to actually be somewhat organized!
Contrary to what some folks are reporting I am pleased thus far with KEYSTONE'S TOP OF THE LINE PRODUCT! Here's hoping that I can still say that a couple of years from now. Dennis

I will say that it looks daunting at first. It was easy to work around by having the extra wire. I was able to move things out of the way in order to get the converter out and replaced. I simply killed the power, unplugged the old one, removed three wires including a ground and reconnected the new one. I also re-fastened the converter in place like the old one. I would rather have the extra wire like Tom S. has stated. There was actually plenty of room for the wire where it was located. The compartment was above the closet where the washer & dryer fit.

Boy, isn't that the truth-add to the fact that the factory gives you about half the time needed to replace it under warranty.

The biggest problem I had when replacing mine (once I got the wires out of the way) was getting a ladder into that small space in order to see the converter and reach over the commode area. Oh yea, it was also 110 degrees in that small room with 90% humidity. I opened the ceiling vent but the sun was at such an angle that it shone right in my eyes. All-in-all a memorable experience but I'm not complaining, just "sharing".
