Handheld Remote for Wireless System

I have a remote to operate awnings / slides / etc. Here's the really crazy part; all I want to do is replace the internal battery. There's one visible screw which I have removed. Now I just need to remove the face to get at the battery which I can see if I pry the two halfs apart a little.

How do I get the darn thing apart? I can run a small blade screw driver all the way around the perimeter. Something in the middle seems to be locked down tight. I'm trying not to break the thing or have it explode into pieces once it finally lets go.

What's the trick here?

Thank you!

There is a hidden screw beneath the label on the back. You can feel the depression, I took a sharp knife and cut the area open to access the screw.

Thank you Bingo...that did the trick. I suspected as much but couldn't feel the depression under the label. After reading your post, I thought I could feel two. Ha! Ha! Anyway, the remote is now open so I should be okay from here. Thanks again!

TC,
I would also recommend you keep a couple extra batteries for the remote in your rig. They don't seem to last too long (6 months or so) regardless if you are using it a lot or not. And as with anything else, it will go out when you need it and don't have a spare.

r,
Jack

Thanks for your reply Jack and I agree with keeping spares on hand...especially since this particular battery (type A23) is somewhat hard to find. I know big stores carry it but if you're looking in a small store / convenience store on the road you might be out of luck. I bought a couple packages yesterday, put it back together and all is as good as new.

Thanks everyone!

Buy a few on eBay for next to nothing! I bought 5 for $4.25 including shipping!
