Sorry to hear about the loss! These summer storms in the Midwest can be dangerous! The main thing is that you are safe and had a backup living place! Nothing like a Montana to make your home in! We'll see you at the Rally if not before especially if you decide to join us to convoy on our trip to Goshen! Take care and keep intouch!

Dennis and Linda we are so sorry to hear of your loss. Thank God you heard your smoke detectors. While at the laundry mat a young women was telling me that her Fathers home caught on fire and he slept through the dectectors.(I can't imagine sleeping through those things but the girl swears that he did.) The fire fighters got him out just in time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. The hardest part is going through the ashes and trying to figure out all the stuff you had so you can list it for the insurance.

Dennis and Linda, I am so sorry to hear about this! But I'm even more glad to hear neither of you were hurt. We'll be back in your general area the end of October so, if there's anything we can do for you, please don't hesitate.

Very glad you both made it out OK. Having the Montana to live out of at least gives you familiar surroundings to continue your lives. If you are so inclined, perhaps you can post some lessons learned from your misfortune. I'm sure there are things that others could benefit from. Best of luck!!

Friday night lighning struck our house while we were a sleep and it burned to the ground. Thank GOD for smoke detectors. We were able to make it out of the house in time. 19 fire trucks showed up but were unable to save it. We are now living in the Montana that is in the tractor shed. We now have a phone and internet installed in the barn. I guess you can just call us BARN PEOPLE. The main thing is we still have each other and the rest can be replaced. As soon as we get this behind us we will head to the fall rally and who knows where after that.

CORATTLER, the thing everyone needs to do is video tape the inside of your house and put it in a safe deposit box. Then you can view that and it will help you remember what you did have. Plus it proves to the insurance company that you did indeed have those items. When you do that then you need to update it every few years.

Bummer, for sure! Glad you are OK. See you in Goshen to continue your story. What can this group do to help?
