Grease for wet suspension...

I read this some time ago but can't remember where, can't find it and did not commit to memory (like that does any good).

What kind of grease is used for the wet shackle suspension? Does the brand of suspension matter? Is it the same stuff as the EZlube wheel bearings? If so, what does that use?

Thanks a bunch?

Art, I use the same for the bearings as for the shackles, lithium complex, EP grease. I stick with the high temp stuff recommended for disc brakes, but I'm sure the general purpose grade would work just fine.

Any moly, lithium, EP 1 or 2 will work. No bearings rotating at high speed or potentional of accelerating high temps, so any type of good lubricating qualities is important. Water resistant capabilities would also be a must. Ellis

I just ordered the kit from dexter and plan to use the same Amsoil water resistant grease I use on the bearings on both the Monty and the boat trailer. Had a bad seal on the boat last year. Caught it this spring. Couldn't believe the % water and yet no rust on the bearings or races.

Thanks yogib1b.... is Amsoil the brand? If you see no rust, then it's doing it's job. Thanks for the additional info.
