Bedroom TV Not Digital

Can you believe that the TV in the bedroom of my new 2009 Montana is not digital ready! I will have to install a converter box to use it. Anyone planning to purchase a new unit should check this out.

I thought the new LCD TV had to be digital. Is your '09 a recent model? The 2009's at the rally last year still had tube TV's if I remember correctly. I'm sure the 2010's with the LCD are digital.

Our 2009 has a tube TV in the bedrom. I was surprised at that. I'll have to check to see if it is digital ready or not.

I have an early 08 2955RL with a tube tv in the bedroom. It is digital and analog. There is a choice on the remote and in the setup.

I won't be PDIing my 3585SA till Friday, but was in the rig today checking things out. The rig is dated 5/08 and has the tube TV. Checked the TV booklet and it is analog/digital with the ASTC tuner. Think I will remove it after a while and put a 22 inch HDTV flat panel in that space. Flat panel weight is about 12 pounds and the TV in there now is about 40 pounds. Lighten the pin weight a bit.

we bought a converter and it actually works better than original the bat wing adjustment is very inportant but Radio Shack has the converter that has a antenna strength meter that shows on the screen and when its all green it will program very easy.

I hooked up my D/A converters yesterday and was amazed at how clear the picture was on my analog TV's using just the batwing antenna. Looks like I will keep them until they bomb out!

I just replaced my "Beast" with a LCD flat panel. We are loading for a long trip so I am weighing things in and things out. The "Beast" weighs 53 pounds. I can install a second battery with the weight difference, well almost.

Our 2008 Montana 3400 model has digital in both LR and BR. The LR is HDTV and the BR is an SDTV and the digital channels are outstanding with the roof antenna. As indicated, there are settings for analog and digital in both units.

We also have a 2008 3400 and both TVs are digital. Look on the remote of the bedroom tv and you should see a button for switching it over to digital or analog.

I made a boo boo re the bedroom TV. It does receive the digital signal although it is not a flat screen. When going through the set up procedure it looks for the regular signal channels first and then goes back and looks for the digital ones. I was not waiting for the this second scan. More patience needed on my part.

I read somewhere that if you can get reception with direct tv you can recieve a digital signal, my 2006 3500rl gets direct tv on both.

Look in the tv manual to see if it has a digital tuner. Many newer tv's that are not flat screen have a digital tuner. They can receive a digital signal and convert it to display on the tube.

As Home On the Road stated. I have a 32 inch, big body tv in the living area. It is a Samsung and has a built in digital tuner.

The easy way is to look on the front of the tv. Almost all (99 and 99/100) digital tv's will have DTV, along with HDMI if so equipped, on the front in large letters. Also, if you go into setup and the channel selection feature, it should ask if you want to scan for analog, cable, or digital. If it has digital, that is a definite indication it is digital ready.

Just purchased a new 2009 3400RL built in May or June of 08 and the bedroom TV is tube type. A bit sad in a way as the new flat screens are a lot lighter than the old one plus take less space. Anyway we'll change it right away. Ellis
