My current Montana has the same air pockets...as did our '02 Montana. We never had a problem with them on the '02. I guess if one of them was really big, I might be concerned.

Anyone have any experience with them?

I have a couple on my 06 3400 also. I've been keeping an eye on them when I do my roof checks and have seen no issues so far. Keeping my fingers crossed no problems.

I was concerned about those air pockets also. From what I've seen, it is common on Keystone trailers. Last winter, I was washing our roof, and observed the other roofs nearby. One more Keystone, an Everest, and it had the air pockets at every joint in the decking. I spoke with the owner, and he said his dealer told him it was normal. None of the other brands had the air pockets. Oh well, no problems so far.

It is pretty common on all trailers with the rubber roof to have some bubbles. Small bubbles are not a problem. Just make sure they don't grow. Larger bubbles they should fix, usually with a hypodermic full of glue shot into the bubble.

If you're talking about what looks like a seam going all the way across from side to side, that's where the roofing material seams and you're dealer is correct about it allowing for movement. I don't know about the expansion part but definitely for movement. All the Montanas I've seen have that one.

My nine year old unit was delivered exactly as Steve described in the post above this. It hasn't gotten any worse to date.

Same here on the seam across the roof. I had a fit when I saw it as I had never seen that before but after 20 months it still looks the same. We did have Keystone document my concernes along with pictures of the roof.....just in case.

Our Challenger is the same way. Never had any concerns about it because, twice a year I go up with a bucket of water and Dawn dish washing soap. It always has looked the same.

I get calls almost daily at work on this issue from retail customers. After I get done explaining to them that we are talking about Cherokees and that I have the same thing happening to my SOB, they are much more relaxed.

Thank goodness I found this topic. I just discovered an airpocket across my 07 3485SA today. I feel better knowing it's common. Rosyriz

rosyriz, keep an eye on it and if it grows, then contact your dealer.

We had some small bubbles on ours and were also told that it is normal and not to worry about it. Well I now have a problem and it is out of warranty so I am SOL. The rubber is loose from the nose cap to the fan opening. It apparently billows in the wind running down the road because I can't keep the vent caulked. Fixed it about two weeks ago and it started leaking today after only 500 miles and it is raining like a sob in northern Florida.

The roof has a 12 year warranty on material and 5 year on the labor from Dicor, but it does not cover improper installation or the adhesive coming loose. Not much value. I suggest you get any problems fixed or well documented while your trailer is under warranty, cause you are on your own after that.

Will call Keystone and check with our dealer if we can get the trailer home in one piece, but have no hope of them standing behind their product.

Our 08 has a few bubbles here and there with them being more defined at one of the cross ribs. The tech and the owner of the dealership explained this was due to gas given off from the glue they use and it is quite normal. I have been keeping an eye on them and they haven't expanded any. I suppose here in Colorado at high altitudes we would have more of a problem with them.
