FT Insurance

We are just starting out full timing and plan on using a family members home in FL as our domicile address. I have been checking insurance rates for our 3790RD and GMC 3500 and OMG! Never realized owning a home and a second vehicle was that much of a benefit with insurance. Broker gave me RV only quote from Progressive for $1000/yr but when adding the truck, best he could do is National General for $1145 / 6 mos. (even with $1000 deductible)
I realize FL is one of the higher cost states but does anyone domicile in FL and get better rates?
Just want to be sure we aren't getting ripped off.
Thanks for any input.

First and foremost you don't just need insurance, you need full timers insurance. When you had the house you probably had a blanket liability policy. Without the house you now need one. To find out if you're getting a decent deal try Millerrvinsurance.com and see what they can do for you on full time insurance. They have our rig and both vehicles and we've used them for many years and have checked, but they are still doing the best for us. On the other hand, we are domiciled in Kansas.
