Dealer going downhill fast
Okay need to vent.
Been going to the same dealer for our last 4 campers. Took our Monty in for warranty work and to fix an awe shucks I did.
Twice they ordered the wrong parts, Then they tell me it is ready and it is not. Well they have to order a part and did not want to keep me from our camper for another 6 weeks weeks. But please tell me before I get there.
Then the one pass through door won't close right. After first attempt it was determined the door was warped. I go to pick it up and it still won't close! ARG!!! At least this time they said they can replace it while I wait.

Very unfortunate and aggravating! Let's hope this isn't an industry trend starting. To date I've been fortunate and had very good service from my local CW for all repair work.

Rich I fully understand busy. What I do not understand is having possession of my camper for 6 weeks, knowing they have to order parts to make the repairs and then do not order the parts until after they tell me is is done. At least tehy were nice enough to let me have it so I can start tweaking it.

Different dealers different procedures. When our dealer orders parts from Keystone we get a printed invoice of the order and it is usually done within a day or two. The longest it has taken for a part to be received was 3 weeks.

That has been a continuing problem for years. We have been able to attend every fall rally since 2006 since we live less than 300 miles away and have learned a lot. Keystone does nor have a large parts department although we we told at the last fall rally they are trying to change that . The parts trail is ..you to dealer, dealer to keystone, keystone to vendor, vendor to keystone, keystone to dealer, dealer to you' The fact is if Keystone gets the order it will be filled. There is also the problem of Vendor backlog. With the RV business booming the vendors have problems providing parts to the manufacturers let alone to the dealers on customer orders. This is how I learned to get the order invoice from the dealer thereby confirming the order had been placed.

I had a new bp trailer that had severe roof leak and cabinets falling off wall Dealer took pictures and contacted mfgrabout warranty work and supposedly ordered parts early April. Late April got hit by a hailstorm damaged one side. Insurance Co sent a check to dealer by the middle of May .Again supposedly ordered parts. Set up an appointment for mid August. Dropped trailer off Waited 2 weeks when I went to check progress, they had not started and said they were waiting for parts. Ended upgrading to a 5er Got nearly what we paid for trade

The dealer not ordering the needed parts is IMO a huge problem and great care should be taken by the consumer to insure the parts are ordered. Elkhart/ Goshen is a Zoo with manufacturers lines at full capacity and the vendors struggling to keep up. We were there when the economy was in the dumps and the area was a ghost town with unemployment at 26% or better. It is boom or bust in the RV industry.

Tellin' ya - finding the RIGHT dealer is the key - RV Station in Nacogdoches, TX is not where I bought mine but where I'll buy the next - Service Mgr has been there decades. Trouble is - if it was not bought there … they did help me out once with gear box and when a window broke, said, "Your good enough to install it." He was correct. But did order the window for me. Honestly, look for a local TECH - we used one in Arlington Texas to fix fridge - super guy, fast and honest … even coordinated work between closest deal, Montana and Fridge CO.

When a long timer or a full timer like many here we are normally far from our selling dealer. When on the road and need dealer help we call Keystone Customer service and they will find the nearest dealer and set up the visit or what ever help we need. We use mobile service here in Florida and they work with the warranty company for repair authorization and payment. Our selling dealer is great but does little good when we are hundreds of miles away.
