When I order my Ford truck I know it needs the 5th wheel prep op for about $500. Will this option allow me to install the ball in the bed so the Anderson hitch can be used?

I'm sure the Ford has a prep pkg. similar to my Ram. Mine came with 4 puck holes if you want to use a rail and a center hole that I place my B&W gooseball in. Once locked in the Andersen sits over the B&W ball and locks to it. At the top of the pyramid sits another adjustable height ball that you drop your trailer pin onto. I believe that is what you were wondering about.

I bought my Chevy 3500 DRW with the tow package, among other things was the puck system. 5 holes in the bed, 4 for chains if needed (I leave them covered) and the center one for a ball. I bought the Curt puck system, drop the ball in the hole and twist and close the lever. The Andersen sits on that ball and torques against it pulling it down to the bed. My wife and I had a race to see who could do it faster (including putting it in the bed), she won (she's a bit competitive) and since she is only 5"2' that says allot about the ease of use.

The other four holes are not for chains, those are where a standard non-single point hitch mounts.
