Black Tank Macerator

I am in need of a black tank macerator system, as when we use our 2007 3400RL we need to be able to dump at our stick house before we take the rig to the storage lot. I have a cleanout in the front of our house about 30 feet from the street with a slight uphill incline, so I need a system that will pump uphill. CW has two systems on sale right now- the FloJet and the Thetford. The Thetford is more $$$ and only comes with a 21 foot hose. No mention of available extensions. The FloJet looks good-some of the CW reviews were not favorable. It also requires a power source hard wired, I believe. Anyone out there utilizing a macerator on a regular basis? I would really value any advice. TIA

Since RVs don't normally use a macerator, the choices are limited. I'd suggest checking a marine store, West Marine being the biggest, the catalog has 1,300 pages.

The Sewer Solutions will do the same thing for a lot cheaper. I have one and it works great and sure beats the 3" hose. It requires no power just uses a water jet.

We have the Sewer Solution also, it does work and will pump up hill, but only to 3 feet vertical. It is much slower than the stinky slinky but can be used where a lift is required. The instructions state that 3 foot is max but I have gotten it to go about 4. They also state that 30 feet is the Max length for the hose and that the farther you go with it the less elevation it will handle. This is because it is not a positive pressure pump, you are working with momentum caused by a venturi. That in itself is a limiting factor. The more pressure you have on the supply hose the more efficient it all is. If you have to go higher than3 feet or farther than 30 feet then you may need a macerator... Dave

We have used the flowjet unit we got at CW for 3 years now.
It works great, our attaches to a clear 90 degree elbow and then just attach a garden hose to the outlet open the tank and hit the switch.
I ran a 12 volt power supply from the batteries to a plug outlet and then put a odd reciptal and plug on it.
During the summer I pump out black tanks into two 55 gallon drums on a snow mobile trailer and haul it to a local campground.
When we are in MN at the kids house I have an adapter that I screw into a 1 1/2" cleanout and just pump the unit through a garden hose.
I have pumped through 200' of 3/4" black plastic pipe, no elevation to a septic tank.
You can not go wrong with it.

Take a look at the Clean Dump system. It uses a flowjet pump and has 1"x 25' and 1"x 50' extension hoses available. I've had mine for about 6 months and it works real well. A bit pricey, but you don't need to hook it up to water to pump.

Check around online for pricing as it varies widely from what CW sells it for.
